About The Artwork

So romantic, that softening of light as it cools in the air. The change in light can happen suddenly, from one day to the next and summer is over.

Autumn is a velvet season of billowing clouds hit golden on the edge of a rain storm, still imbued with some of summer’s warmth, but different somehow. You know, you’ve felt it too.
I think Autumn is the season I’m most present, breathing in every last bit of sun in the afternoon, flowers fading in the garden, hyper aware of every shift and lengthening shadow.

I love it even though it makes me sad. It's a nice wistful sadness that I can’t even bear and can’t get enough of because I know it’s also fleeting.

About The Artist

Morgana Celeste is a multidisciplinary creative who usually works with paper, plaster and cement. The combination of these materials unifies her love of materiality and composition, Morgana creates vibrant, tactile three-dimensional works that sit somewhere between painting and sculpture. She first began experimenting with paper as both canvas and material in 2019 with her first two shows going ahead online during the many lockdowns in Melbourne.

Breaking out of her usual practice for this piece, Morgana has explored more traditional painting techniques on canvas.
